What a timely coincidence, the Loire Department and the Loire Chamber of Agriculture are organizing the market for local producers this Friday, September 30th! So come and meet your fellow farmers from 9 am to 1 pm in the forecourt of the Hôtel du Département, 15 rue Eugene Vignat in Orleans. The opportunity to find ingredients for your seasonal recipes at the stands of four Loiret producers…

  • Isabelle Thiercelin from La Croix Saint-Edme in Givraines: many varieties of potatoes. Agatha: mashed potatoes, french fries, soup. Charlotte and Rosé de France: firm flesh, stewed, baked… All sorted by hand

Let’s eat Loire!

Through this market, born in April 2020, the Department and the Chamber of Agriculture of the Loire support the producers of the territory and encourage the inhabitants of the Loire to consume locally. It promises quality, respect for the environment and fair remuneration for farmers, so many values ​​protected within the territorial food project Mangeons Loiret.

This ambition was also reflected in October 2021 through the launch of the Guide for local producers for direct sales and an application that will be found at mangeonslocal.loiret.fr (300 reference producers, all markets and initiatives such as AMAP, advice on the seasonality of products or quality labels etc.). It has sold 10,000 copies and has 6,500 digital subscribers to date.
