Return of the chef’s soup in Le Puy-en-Velay: discover the list of proposals for the 2022 edition.

And eight! The eighth edition of Soup des chefs, on the idea of ​​the association Habitat et humanisme 43, will take place on November 19, Saturday. We already know the principle of this annual meeting, which takes place in the Place du Breuil on D-Day and up the chain, in the kitchens of the participating restaurants. They are 32 this year to offer soup recipes that are extraordinary.

Five new restaurateurs are participating in the event: Lou Pinatou, Julipinois, Administrative Restaurant of Velay, Le Médina and Le Régina. All supply the soup by the litre, which can be requested in advance by filling out the form below. Reservation vouchers are also deposited in bakeries, at the tourist office of Puy, at the MJC in Espaly, Maisons pour tous in Brives-Charensac and Chadrac, the socio-cultural centers in Blavozy, Vals and Guitard… They must be returned to the address indicated before November 16. It is also possible to place an order on the website www.achetezaupuy.com.

900 liters of broth are for sale

Soups ordered must be picked up under the marquee at Le Breuil on Saturday 19 November. Other soups will be made on site that day. Guillaume Fourcade of Atelier du chef, who with the help of youth from La Colombe (hosted by Habitat et Humanisme) will offer a mushroom soup. There will also be a Swiss team, restaurateur Claude Lacroix of Les Diablerets and his barley soup from Graubünden. Finally, a new team from Toulouse around Christian Larose will innovate with garbouret, a specialty of the southwest.

A total of 900 liters will be put on sale (€10 per litre, €3 per bowl for on-site consumption). The event represents a lot of work for the association’s volunteers, accompanying people in unstable situations, due to their social situation, age, disability, uprooting or any other life accident.At the headquarters of Habitat et humanisme, rue du Petit Vienne, the association’s volunteers are preparing for the event.
The profits from the Potage des chefs are intended to help finance the activities of Habitat et humanisme, which manages 52 places of accommodation in Le Puy and Brives-Charensac, two reception facilities, La Colombe (Brives-Charensac) and the Pension de Sainte-Cros in Le Puy (for people in social difficulty).

For six years, the association has welcomed refugees: Syrians, Burundians, Moroccans, displaced Ukrainians (9 families so far) in other premises provided to them, thanks to private individuals, rents from social landlords. Soon (early 2023) the renovation of the Mambré site in the upper town of Le Puy will allow the reception of new tenants.
